Denmark ESC

Jag behöver inte nödvändigtvis ha en dansk posten. Jag vet inte vad det handlar om dem, men de verkar lite av medan de visar någon form av överlägsenhet som kanske inte är ogrundad. När de sa det tog de seger 2013 med en fantastisk sång, de hade en rad utmärkta låtar några år tidigare. Men jag är vanligtvis på staketet om sina poster igen på ett något ogrundat sätt.

Dansk Melodi Grand Prix är inställd för 16 februari med ett urval av 10 låtar. Jag har inte hört dem. Nedan summeras från första lyssna.

Simone Emilie – Anywhere An easy to listen to modern song. I like it. It’s upbeat and makes me feel a sense of happiness. Not sure if it is Eurovision material, but a lovely song.

Rasmus Faartoft – Hold My Breath This one is a nice song with a few big notes. It has a romantic vibe and also seems quite lonely. May do better than I expect of it.

Leeloo – That Vibe That Vibe is an uptempo number which depending on the voters, may do well or sink. More suited to a young audience.

Humørekspressen – Dronning af baren I’m not sure. It’s in Danish and it is a bit bland. I want to say good things, but there is none to say.

Sigmund – Say My Name Another upbeat number which has a good feel and rhythm. I like balance like of the slower verses and the more electric chorus. Decent song

Teit Samsø – Step It Up The drums get your attention and then his strong vocals make you sit up. And this could do well on the night depending on performance. But it is a very sexist chauvinistic song, so I’m not sure.

Julie & Nina – League of Light I think the writers wanted something atmospheric and other worldly, and I don’’t think they got it. This may not go down well. 

Marie Isabell – Dancing with You in My Heart Nice voice to go with a country sound. It has a good pace, but I’m not sure it should win the contest.

Jasmin Gabay – Kiss Like This A Danish Spanish song is a weird combination. But give it a go and you may find that it win the MGP. It has the right ingredients of tempo, voice, beat and a modern sound.

Conclusion

Very open field of songs. I think it will be Kiss like this but it could be Step it up, Say my name or Hold my breath. Being Denmark it could do completely different and choose something completely different.
